David had been failing the last couple of years - heart troubles, etc. Was hospitalized with serious blood clots, contracted pneumonia. Wasn't able to fight it off. In hospice about a week before passing. RIP David.
We were so lucky to have been in his class last year. I could tell he was slowing down. He was still humble and generous. Such a legacy.
There was another thread about his passing a few weeks back.
Never met David or saw him demonstrate but his book was a revelation!
Pat Carroll did a nice tribute on Meet the Woodturner this week. Past recordings are a 5 Euro fee to view for a month, but he has made this one available for all with no fee. (like he did with John Jordan's and Nick Agar's)
