I've recently retired and have been turning for a total of about two months. I inherited a Craftsman 103 lathe from my father and find that walking around the woods behind my house looking for wood to turn is a thrill all by itself. I've made a total of 5 pieces so far and can't get enough. Winter just hit and my garage is pretty much open to the cold so my work is on hold for now. I've sold one piece to a woman in Washington State so I guess I'm a professional now? I was hoping to get some pieces made during the winter to sell at fairs in the spring but it's just too cold. I'll figure something out. The sideways pic is the first piece I made. It is from a mountain ash that I planted about 15 years ago that succumbed to insect damage.
