What do you do to demagnetize your tools?

I've got a magnetic bar to attach some of my tools. It's great for organization, but the tools get magnetized themselves and drag on the tool rest. Do you smack them with a hammer? Do you have a de-magnetizer? Have you given up on your magnetic tool holder?

I Definitely avoid magnets and tool contact.
A magnetic drag on the toolrest makes smooth cuts hard for me to achieve.

I ruined a small gouge by leaving against a magnetic base for a few days. Always seemed to need a hard push to get it moving and then there was a continual resistance to keep it moving.

It’s a personal choice and some people’s turning style is compatible with magnetized tools.
Others not so much.

Demagnetizing lathe tools is very quick and easy to do with the right tool.

I have this one:

Click on this link, and there are plenty of inexpensive used options on eBay:

How it's done.

Start with the demagnetizer almost touching the lathe tool.
Turn on.
In small circles, slowly withdraw the demagnetizer away from the tool.
Turn off at about 8" distance.

Works really well.
