I was in Home Depot to pick up a couple of things. I noticed a section of "abrasives" with the Diablo label- sanding sponges, reuseable sandpaper, sandpaper, to list a few. Any one have experience with their products?

I've used the Freud Diablo tablesaw blades. Decent consumer quality blades, but not as robust as the true Freud blades. Not sure if Diablo is now a separate brand or not.

What is reusable sandpaper? I use most of my abrasives more than once.

I've used Diablo sanding products and I like them. They do last a long time. Interesting, on the brand side, Diablo and Freud (which someone else mentioned) are both part of the Bosch tool family, and I do like Bosch power hand tools.

I find Diablo, made in Switzerland, to be a 'better than average' sanding medium. Can you purchase better? Of course...but being sold by Depot allows a for a better than average price point for a decent product. IMO...

I agree They just do not hold up like Mirka Gold. I have them on my oscillating spindle sander but for my ROS 5 inch just did not do well
Did you use the reg. discs or the mesh ones ? What’s really being discussed here is Diablo’s mesh abrasives , which do last as long as Mikra’s .

This fella really likes 3M’s mesh offering and it tested best in his removal scenarios. However - his conclusions were rather skewed for “value” because he only used the suggested retail price on the Diablo mesh and not the often found “sale” price. Their discs still don’t remove as much material as the 3M ones, but once you factor in the 40cents/ disc cost (or 30cents on clearance) the Diablo starts to look more attractive since it’s available today at 2300 stores that are open til 9pm and on weekends.

I have used their hook and loop pads for powered sanders, and I actually ended up using them as sanding pads for turning till I ran out. I definitely like them better than the paper backed sandpaper and found that the abrasive was fairly long-lasting. The only issue I ran into was that it accumulated debris and resin more quickly than standard paper. But I think that was because the thicker backer made it more comfortable sanding at a higher speed.

regular discs for some reason not too fond of mesh, maybe the price

Perhaps you ought to revisit the proposition for your ROS then ?

40cents a disc for the Diablo mesh isn’t really all that expensive. The same or even cheaper than many places for Mirka gold. Factor in the longer life and it looks like a real bargain.

Diablo sandpaper is not readily available down here. But I do use Diablo reciprocating blades 6,8 and 12", found them to be a good product.

Well I just got a bunch from a turner closing shop and I really do not use the ROS much since turning has taken over. Then the other side is that I have never seen a Diablo in a 2 inch h&l.

I think the Sanding Glove carries these discs. Nice thing about them is that you don't need holes in the discs for all of the different random orbit sanders. There was a lot of ranting and raving about them when they first came out. I have gotten used to the discs from Vince at WoodNwonders. I can get several bowls out of each disc before it is time to throw them away. Vince dies not carry 3M products though, but I have really gotten used to his over sized discs. I did try the MIrka discs, and if I remember correctly, they were worn out after sanding out the outside of a 12 inch bowl. Not nearly as long lasting as the Deer brand from Vince. It has been a long while since I have used anything else. I think all abrasives are now electrostatically charged rather than sifted so you get much more even grit distribution. The top ones, as far as I am concerned, are on mylar rather than paper. I wish they made this 3M stuff for drum sanders!
