Did you regrind your scraper to negative rake?

Robo concerning your comment about burnishing both up and down I had never even thought or doing that and I didn't think it would work. I tried it and did work and saved going back to the grinder as often so thanks.

I did notice years ago, that with my card scrapers, the edge I got straight after honing was not as good or durable as the edge I got after turning the first edge down and then back up. That could be opperator error....

I have both traditional and NR scrapers. I've found that the traditional scraper is more aggressive, and sometimes you need that. The NR scrapers, although less aggressive, are capable of a finer cut, and sometimes you need that, too.

There is applicable purpose for both types of scrapers. :)

I converted all my scrapers that were 3/4" or over. Less than that I like using for box and sheer.
