Here's a list of clubs in Ohio. There should be someone near you. If you're not a member of a club, I highly recommend it. I've made several new friends, learned a lot, and had a great time! No substitute for someone giving you hands on time.

I am sure (even without knowing who is up there) that someone would be glad to help you out! Woodturners are a good bunch of folks in general, and love to share information and knowledge and wood when it comes to woodturning in particular.

(In your previous post about getting some wood several of us wondered where you were located. If you'll put that information in your profile then it will help immensely.)

Your timing couldn't be better :)

I'm a member of the Central Ohio woodturners, have been for a couple of years now. Its a great way to get involved, get free training and demo's and get hooked into resources like Wood, additional training, equipment, etc. We have over 250-300 members (I think) and usually have over 100 at our regular meetings the second Tuesday of each month - September through May.

We have a meeting coming up this Tuesday at OSU at 7pm. You can get maps and directions from www.centralohiowoodturners.org as well as the latest copy of our newsletter to get a feel for what we're about.

Hope to see you there!

- Devon Palmer, Columbus Ohio
