Exhibition & Auction Opportunity
It is not too late to submit a piece for the AAW 2014 Educational Opportunity Grant (EOG) live auction at the annual June AAW symposium in Phoenix, Arizona.
You do not need to be present at the symposium, and all that is needed at this point is a good quality image of your finished piece.
You may opt to receive up to 50% of the auction price. The application deadline is April 7th, and the application form is at

We can offer some flexibility beyond this date if you at least send an email to Phil McDonald, AAW Executive Director, indicating your intentions to submit a piece.
Applications will be juried, and images of the selected pieces will be published in advance of the auction on the internet for collectors and any others who do not attend the symposium to bid on. The auction will be simultaneously live and online, which will intensify bidding and provide bidding opportunities to potential buyers around the world. We hope to have these images online in early May to maximize advance exposure to prospective bidders. This process is a change from the traditional one of bringing pieces to the symposium and entering them in the auction there. This year it must be done in advance, as explained above. We are optimistic that these improvements will translate into greater visibility for artists submitting work, and maximum prices for auctioned work due to increased competition. The funds raised in the EOG auction are returned to chapters, organizations and individuals in the woodturning community.
