I saw the photo of the day of the day and I am curious in how these are made. Are the any "how to" links or web sites. I tried looking but couldn't find anything.
 
It's a box, with the join down the middle. Imagine rotating one half of the box by 90 degrees. You now have a form which can be turned.

The box is kept closed by magnets, no doubt added during the lamination process.
