Finish for candle holders

I am about to finish some tea lights and wondered if there is a special cocern for melted wax?

Melted finish would be my concern. Things could get ugly around the aluminum. I prefer to use glass votive holders with a bit of air around them.

I wouldn't worry about it. The 1/2 dozen or so pairs of candle holder's I've made and used haven't been harmed by wax drips. I use an oil/varnish finish and the wax drips just pop right off. Course, I'm relatively careful around melted wax anyway so don't have many instances of drips and spills.
