Looks bad for those on the line from Tallahassee to Macon.

It’s pretty far west from us so we should be fine unless a tornadoes gets spun up.
It’s almost 5 Pm and the storm center is about a 180 miles WSW from us. Wind is almost nothing right now was pretty steady around 20MPH a few minutes ago.
Rained a few times earlier
Should be passing us around 8-9pm

You may see some significant rain & wind even up your way. Sounds like Ashville, NC has alreaey gotten some rugged weather. Stay aware!!
My mother is near Ft. Myers and a niece north of St. Petersburg. Both had a lot of wind, some rain but not overwhelming, and a few branches to clean up. Many other areas have it far worse.
In southern St Petersburg near the tip of the peninsula, power out since Thursday and estimated return Monday morning. Some heavy Laurel oak limbs came down but no damage to my roof. One of the three sewage treatment plants in the city had to be taken offline so 25% of the population was told not to shower or flush toilets for 48 hours. Yikes. Over 230,000 residential customers lost power in the county. Terrible effects along the coast and barrier Islands, and in Northern Florida and into the Carolinas. Pretty bad storm for many thousands.

Well I was worried about Florida but people anywhere near Ashville are going through an unbelievable disaster. Entire towns washed away.
Was wondering about David Ellsworth. His home and studio is down near Ashville.
I can't even imagine that type of damage, I'm sure the devastation truly will never leave the eyes and minds of the residents for the rest of their lives. It really is tragic.
Graeme Priddle and Melissa live in that area too. Anyone heard from them?
We know a guy and his family who lives near one of the hardest hit Asheville areas - all is well at his house.

I talked to David and Wendy at the Rocky Mountain symposium - they did find out their house was ok, the drive up to the house was covered in downed trees. They were concerned about if they could get home or not....
Tim Tucker lives in the Waynesville area which was also hard hit. I have reached out but not had any response. I know coms in the area are difficult at best, so that may be the problem. All I can offer at this time is prayers.
Read a post on another forum this morning by a guy who lives near Boone, NC. This morning was the first time he had a cell signal, and the post read like he knew less about the extent of damage & human cost than most of us in the outside world. Hoping the best for those folks.
I'm glad to hear they're safe and that their house is okay. I know their house isn't near the rivers that flooded, but apparently there were some devastating mudslides in that area.
And now here comes Milton. According to the news it's presently a Category 5 hurricane

We got through Milton - just inconvenienced for us the house and shop are on islands.
Our house is high and dry with its full compliment of shingles.
All the rain that fell on 7 miles of cattle pastures has to drain past us to get to the Withlacoochee 8 miles to out north
A lot of turners on the coast or other low lying areas will likely have significant damage.
The devastation and loss of life from both hurricanes is catastrophic.
Our house is lower left.
This morning. And a normal high water
