I have some practice bowls to give away to a newbie turner. All have flaws, and/or minor cracking. (None of these I'd consider hazardous, but there are no guarantees, and whoever gets them should be advised and aware.) Some are difficult woods, so would make good practice for sharpening and technique. If you're into filling cracks with turquoise, and such.....some might even finish out well! A few have waste blocks attached....others have tenon for gripping by your chuck. All have been roughed and MC stabilized.....ready for finish turning. For estimating the size.....diameter of the largest bowl, the Ambrosia Maple.....is 10" diameter. The Granadillo bowl has an epoxy repair.

I'll box them up.....you pay the shipping.

Top row, L to R
Madrone
Desert Ironwood
Granadillo
Spalted Maple

Bottom row, L to R
Spalted maple
Jatoba
Ambrosia Maple

odie - I've been turning around two years and this would be great practice. I'll take them if you have any left.

OK.....they're yours, Mike....... :)

Give me your address by PM, and I'll let you know what it cost to ship.

Wow great score. Lots of nice wood there, in
Lace or epoxy or turquoise will fill any cracks, he should get some nice stuff out of those.,

Really nice giveaway Odie!!!! Thanks for helping out.

To clarify, the ones with blocks were turned on a woodworm screw?

A woodworm screw supplied with most chucks would work.....might need to re-drill to a larger hole. I am using a screw center faceplate for my turnings.

Greetings,

I imagine these are all gone but if you happen to have any left, I am interested. Thanks a bunch.

I just checked the timing on the first two posts......Wow.....these bowls were claimed in 9 minutes time!

You never know......I reject unfinished bowls from time to time. When I get a few more of them, I'll let you guys know.
