Hello everyone. I’m a 78 year old located in Oak Island , NC. Hobby woodworker since 1983 making mostly furniture for family and friends. I did a bit of spindle turning on a HF lathe, like fluted columns for Grandfather clock I made. Fall of 2024 I took an intermediate turning class for 12 weeks at the local community college, first time I used a chuck or turned a bowl. When the class was coming to an end I purchased a midi Nova Neptune and I’m now embarked on improving my skills. My shop is in a garage like space , like 10-12’ wide and three cars long on the ground floor between the pilings. I sealed it up fairly well and made sure I was able to obtain 50% humidity as the salt air reads havoc, before moving my tools. Due to space constraints most of my tools are mobile and moved in to position when used. I’ve turned a number of live edge cedar bowls from a tree that washed up on the beach a couple of years ago and some other things. I’m looking forward to learning from this group and contributing when I can.

Hi Gene 👋 I've been here for 2 or 3 weeks. Welcome. I've been turning with no training for about a month and absolutely love it. I had the same problem with my uploaded images rotating when I first got here and started quite a thread on the subject. The thing that worked for me was to use the little box with a mountain inside at the top of the page. Right next to the thing that looks like two chain links. Haven't had a problem since. Welcome again and happy turning.

Hello Gene! And thanks, everyone here loves photos.

Sorry, couldn’t figure out how to rotate these.

Are you posting the photos directly from a phone?
If so, it's suspected but not proven in all cases that if you use the small "Insert image" control at the top instead of the "Attach files" control at the bottom the pictures may posted correctly. Might give it a try - can use the "Edit" option, try uploading the pics again, and delete the old if it works.

John,
I do all my work on an IPad with attached keyboard. I tried what you suggested. When I edit the post , I have two sets of pictures, the original post and a second set in what seems like an “upload area” where I “attach files” . These images have been rotated 90 degrees. When I “insert” these images are moved to the post. I added a third image and same results.
David,
Suggested “using a little box with a mountain inside” - there are some options when I do the insert like the “two chain links” , but no mountain. I poked through the other options and did not see a rotate function.
Thank you both.
