I had been thinking (Dreaming) about a Nova DVR 3000 but living in Nova Scotia Canada I haven't found any local suppliers and if I had any problems with the electronics that would be a problem.
So Now am considering buying a General 25-650 M1 Lathe.
Has anyone nad any experiance with this lathe?
What about outboard turning or with the head rotated? is there a suitable Tool support system?

Until I saw the name, I thought this was the same question I just responded to on another forum....

But, realize that the DVR model you are asking about has been dropped, and replaced with the DVR-XP, which has several improvements over the older model.

As I just posted...
I faced the exact same choice about a year ago. I had narrowed the choices down to the same two you are considering. I really liked the features per dollar issue offered by the GI 25-650 vrs the DVR-XP.
There are features I don't like about each, there are features I liked about each. I finialy went with the DVR-XP for the following reasons; I got in on a group buy for the DVR-XP that reduced the price still more and both the turners at one shop (that sold both) bought the DVR over the General.
But I don't think you would go wrong with either.
