Though a majority of people that frequent this particular forum probably use a Rose Engine, at least some (@Jeff Hankinson ) have rotary CNC setups. I came across a nifty website, https://eschersket.ch, that basically works like a spirograph for creating geometric rosettes. You can also do hand drawing and bezier drawings that automatically apply symmetry. It can output a variety of formats, included SVG.

I did a little walk-through using it here.
