Hello, from the North Dallas area. Have lived here since the mid 80's.
Am just a beginner, once again!

All my experience is with spindle turning of game calls.
Pretty basic. Have had a hiatus of a good 7 to 10 years away from my Jet Midi.

New and used tools acquired. :)

Wonderful amount of art and skill here, so I will be lurking and learning. Also active at the Mill of Saw forum.
Good people everywhere!

Best Regards,
George.

Thanks for the welcome :)
I am currently hobbling around due to an injury. Hoping it will clear up in the next days or a week.
In the meantime, am relegated to armchair woodworking and you tube videos for inspiration.
Lathe is a Jet1221 VS.

With all that has been happening in my life, I just feel like adding this today.

Woodturning is certainly bringing about positive outlooks to me and my current health issues.
Am actually on disability from work! And well, I don't always get a lot done.

Still, I have to say the myriad of really nice and cool things than can be made, even at my lower skill level
has become consuming and exciting. At least in my pumpkin head LOL.
The learning and making potential is so great!

I got started in Turning somewhere about 2005. Hard to remember.
At that time there was a good market for Predator Game calls.
Around 2010, market was dropping like a rock!

At bugs me that I did not move on to many of the other things that could be learned and made.
Instead I sold my Lathe and tooling. Hmmm. I wonder, what was on You tube then ?
YT / videos have made a huge difference.

Maybe I was just burned out, I spent time on the Lathe almost every day for several hours and more.
All of it, game call turning.

I had a lot of fun for about 20 years doing general woodworking as well. I feel like a reached a decent intermediate level. a number of the projects were actually quite time and sweat consuming! Bathroom Cabinets, Futon bed, the Adirondack chairs :) Too many Bookcases hahaha

Hard to image where all that energy came from! I sure do not have it now, eeekkkkk.
And while I can see myself doing smaller projects as I did in the past, Turning is taking center stage. YAY!

Well, I just needed to shout this out to the world in general!!
