... is also an "established s/w" that has most of the capabilities of Photo Shop with an infinitely lower price (I keep getting a divide-by-zero error when I try to calculate the percentage ). The Gimp is available for most major platforms.
The main thing that I like is that by using it I have more funds available for toys; e.g. woodturning, CNC, ice cream, etc.
Gimp actually pre-dates Picassa2, the first version started development in 1995, with the first release in 1996. So it pre-dates Picassa by nearly a decade.
