This is the new style of Glaser Screw Chuck. It has the Paulo Marin style of threaded collar allowing the turner to expose as much or as little of the screw as need for the turning project.
Glaser's earlier version of this chuck the collar was a slip fit. So, in order to shorten the length of the exposed screw you had to use plywood shims (alla Richard Raffan) to do so.
Thread size is 1" x 8 tpi
The Original price is $245 plus shipping.
Asking $220 including shipping in a USPS flat rate box shipped to the CONUS

Wonder if you could explain something. I've had four Glaser screw chucks, including one of his earliest prototypes. I don't understand the "Paulo Marin" style. The last three I bought were after Hitech started making them - I bought mine from Alan Lacer. Mine are 1-1/4" except a 1" to loan out. I've never seen one with a "slip fit" collar. How does that work?

When you say "expose as much or as little of the screw as needed" do you mean simply backing off the thread on the reversible flange? Or is there something else in the design - can you loosen and move the screw deeper?

Regardless, that's an excellent price for a wonderful tool.
