well I hope this will be my last lathe purchase! I have been turning on the Jet Mini for a year now and It was just to small for the work I wanted to do. So I Orderd the PM 3520a :D I am very pleased with it, haven't turned but 2 bowls on it so far but Wow this is a nice lathe. Im going to give it a good workout this weekend ;)

Almost bought that same lathe last month, ended up buying the 2 hp Jet 1642 instead. It was a floor demo model that I bought for about 1/2 price, but due to foul-ups on the company's part they had to ship me a brand new one in the box for the same price, long story, but it was just too good of bargain to pass up. I was also using a mini before, amazing the difference it makes in turning anything. So far I have made several items from pens to larger bowls than my mini could handle and it has been a terrific experience.

I noticed you installed the guard on yours. The sales people told me off the record to not bother with it. I did install it but took it back off because it is a pain to work around and also kept me from mounting the dust collector to the lathe.

Enjoy! I have had several wood lathe snobs try to tell me when I was looking at the 3520a and Jets that it still was not a "real" lathe like their One Way's. I simply did not desire to put more into the cost of my new lathe than all the rest of my tools put together. I am as proud of my work on this lathe as I would be on any lathe, and I am sure you feel the same way about your 3520a. Just keep those chips flying!
