Cookwoods

There is a local hardwood dealer in my town that has both an ebay store and a website. www.cookwoods.com

I have been buying my exotics from them for about 3 years now. They have always treated me right, but are a little on the expensive side for certain things.

I sell wood in my area... I don't know what you are looking for, but I have spalted Maple, cherry burl, red oak, apple, birch and probably a couple I have forgotten. What sizes do you need?

Here's the hook up...

All of the below are expensive but you can get some reallly good exotics from them.

Check these guys out.

http://www.anexotichardwood.com/ Tropical exotic hardwoods the best cocobolo I've ever seen. I generally walk into the store but I know they do mostly mail order.

http://www.xmission.com/~burlturn/ The Burl Source out of Utah. Awsome selection of Aussie burls great mailorder company. Ask for Skip.

Hey Ryan where are you located? If you happen to be anywhere near Nor Cal. or the Pacific north west I can hook you up with a burl dealer I get maple and redwood from.

It might aslo be worth your while to check out some of the dealers who advertise in the AAW journal.

for those that live in Florida
Bob Winter in St Pete has great prices and great wood. His stock is always changing. He often has unusual woods (everything grows here and he just came back from a buying trip in NC). well worth a drive.

Check out:
James Lee in cyberspace and casselberry

Clay Johnson in cyberspace and KY

I have add the AAW Symposium will have at least 15 wood vendors and quite a few others who have some wood.

Happy Turning
