Greg from University Place, Washington, a suburb of Tacoma south of Seattle. I started turning just before COVID in 2019 and the pandemic gave me lots of opportunity to practice. It's kind of gone in fits and starts since then due to life getting in the way with some longer breaks for injuries (not shop related), travel and other things. I'm now fully back in the swing of things and have been cranking out a bunch of bowls to donate an upcoming benefit for hungry kids that our club supports with bowls for them to sell along with many of the potters and ceramic artists in the area who donate bowls as well. My primary lathe is a Jet 1642EVS, which has worked quite well, although I'd love to have a Powermatic 3520 or Robust American Beauty. I spent almost 33 years in the military, then earned a Masters in Psychology in my mid-60s and became a mental health therapist. I love to learn, whether it's how humans work or how to do things better at the lathe. I'm fortunate to be a member of the South Puget Sound Woodturners and the AAW, which have enhanced my experience immeasurably and given me lots of opportunities to keep learning and make some friends, too. I'll attach a few of my bowls
