Gummed up a chuck with CA glue….

So got a little spicy with a ton of thin and medium CA glue on a piece, and basically glued a screw into my Nova G3 chuck. I’ve tried acetone and others to break it down, but no luck so far. Threads and the screw head are well secured.

Any recommendations? They can include where to get a new chuck body for my other jaws….

Soak it in Acetone, it may take a day.

If it’s the screws that attach the jaws to the chuck,Try heating the screw head That will break in loose.

Occasionally, I have a stuck screw in the shop, and I use an impact driver. It's a cheap little tool that you strike with a hammer to loosen stuck screws. (They are calling it an "impact screwdriver" on the HF site, I see.) Anyway, they are inexpensive, and do the job quite well.

Note: depending on your screw head type, you may need to get a hex driver of the proper size to do the job.....luckily, they are easily found.

Steve’s answer should work since CA glue is a form of plastic. Try using a heat gun or a propane torch to melt the glue. Just make sure there’s no wet solvent when heating, and don’t overheat one area when using a torch.

Thanks for all the feedback! Traveling home today, and will try a couple of these options. The main issue so far has been one of the jaw screws is completely filled with glue, and I can’t access the hex screw to pull it. Tried soaking it with acetone, and while that would soften the CA up, I still could t scrub it out.

Some extra patience is probably going to be needed.

Like I said just drop it in a bowl of acetone and let it work. That is how I clean my CA nozzles.

I've found the "mini pick and hook" set from Harbor Freight to be helpful in cleaning out gunked up recesses like you have. Amazon and others sell similar sets too.

If the acetone doesn't seem to be working then try methylene chloride. It is a potent industrial solvent and paint stripper. You can get it at paint dealers that serve auto body shops and auto paint shops.
