Help setting up a vacuum system on a Vicmark 300 lathe

I just purchased a used Vicmark 300 and would like to use a vacuum system with it. However I don't want to do the tube insert into the head stock. Are there adapters that will attach to the outboard side of the headstock or what is the standard way to make the attachment? Thanks in advance.

Perhaps you'll find this thread instructive. This seems like a topic that comes up with some frequency. There are probably other threads that could help you. I went with the OddNot solution of the plastic tube through the headstock because it seemed the most straightforward to me and is agnostic to the lathe you are using.

Good luck in your quest.
