I've forgotten the name of the homemade chuck (of wood) for reverse turning. Similar to Cole jaws, but having curved rotation line. As I recall, it is named for someone. A modern adaptation was in the AAW journal and I believe it was to be kept on the AAW website, but am unable to find it.
Ring a bell?

Richard

The Straka Chuck was described in the AAW Journal, Summer 2008, pp.50 ff. It's essentially a donut chuck, with some added adjustability.

The large scroll chuck was developed by Longworth, and independently by a fellow in Oregon (I think), sold as Chick and Duck, no longer marketed AFAICT due to death of the producer.

This forum has Search capability too, y'know. [longworth] just got 26 hits, including this thread. At least one link that I posted earlier is no longer valid, because of changes to the web site. Try all links anyway. If you hit a wall, PM me for whatever I have.
