I've discovered diamond plates come in Super fine, fine, medium, and course. Which grit is best for honing woodturning tools?

If you are only doing honing, then Fine is probably the preferred grit.

I agree with Bill. I find that the super fine is too slow and the medium is too coarse, but the fine is just right. It only takes few seconds to get a good honed edge with the fine.

I use the medium most of the time especially for raising a burr on my scrapers. I use the fine and super fined to put an edge on my skew and usually touch it up with the fine followed by the super fine.
