Can anyone help or tell me how to get a response from AAW? I joined AAW with an individual membership on October 15th. joined for 2004. expected to get my 2004 issues of the journal by now, but haven't gotten no communication, welcome package or anything else since initial email confirmation. tried emailing back to the address in the confirmation (aaw@woodturner.org) got no response. so, next tried emailing to the "executive director" at woodturner@quest.net. its been 4 or 5 days and still no response or anything else.

needless to say, I'm disappointed. not only haven't I gotten the journal I was really looking forward to, but I also can't seem to get anyone to tell me if this is normal, and/or when I can expect something.

Help.

You should have heard back by now. I'm forwarding your note to the AAW office.

The email IDs you listed are incorrect:
aaw@woodturner.org
woodturner@quest.net

The contact info for the AAW is listed on the AAW info page
The email contact ID for the AAW admin is: woodturner@qwest.net
or the volunteer webmaster (which gets sent to me): webmaster@woodturner.org

Lately the AAW email ID is getting a ton of SPAM. So it's quite possible your email was correctly sent to the AAW admin and it could have been overlooked.

Got a response. thanks

Heard back from AAW yesterday. They corrected and shipped out yesterday. quick response appreciated.

I'm glad this worked out quickly Frank. The typical turnaround is 1-3 weeks depending on other activities in the AAW office. Usually they stay on top of it. Occasionally during peak activities such as annual symposium preparation they can get behind a week or so. If this occurs to anyone else, please contact the AAW office directly. The AAW has a great staff of people, and they are very helpful.

I have had exactly the same experience. I joined on October 16th and have had no response other than the original email confirmation.

I think it is unfortunate that we have some membership application errors occuring.

If this happens to anyone, can you please contact the AAW office directly? I have put the contact info in this thread. The contact info is also on this webpage AAW contact info
