I once heard a wise old woodturner say:

As far as I know, the idiom "stop and smell the roses" hasn't been applied to woodturning.....but in a certain way, it really does.

Take your time, and don't worry about getting it done fast. If you do this, you'll find that the learning/remembering process is accentuated in a particularly beneficial way.

On my wall is the note: "Embrace the art of puttering"......and, that little note has taken on a real significance for me in recent times.
