I'm considering cocobola as the wood of choice for some ice cream scoops. What would be the best finish(s) for the wood in this application?

I use lacquer on mine but think a wipe on poly might hold up longer.

Liberon Finishing Oil
I like a tung oil based finish. It's easy to apply, does not chip/crack and is easy to restore if there is damage to the handle. - John

I have used various oil and varnish finishes and my preference is now oil. However, let the type of wood as well as intended use help dictate the decision.
