Jacobs chuck

Drawbars are good but I've had to remove things that were installed with the overenthusiastic use of one. If the chuck, collet, etc, can't be removed with a drift or by backing off the drawbar, be careful how far you tighten it. I hate pounding on bearings.

True. I use a small knob, 1-1/2” dia to tighten the drawbar for this reason. It does not need to he-manned, simply snugged up - the all thread is not going to stretch. Its there only to prevent the taper from coming out.
