Hello from Finland!

Thank you for welcoming me into the group!

My name is Jarno Korhonen, a master carpenter with over 30 years of experience in the art of woodworking. My journey with wood began in 1994, and from the very first time I switched on a lathe, I was hooked. I have always been fascinated by the natural beauty and character hidden within each piece of wood and I love bringing it to life through my work.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of learning from true masters of the craft Stuart Mortimer, Richard Raffan, Johannes Rieper, Kurt Johansson, and Jimmy Clewes.

Welcome aboard Jarno, an impressive array you have there. I think we shall all look forward to your next pieces. By the way you come from a nice part of the world. Tervetuloa :)

Welcome. I'm pretty sure that your photo has two Oneway lathes. Does that get confusing? Two Oneways or a Oneway and a Twoway or a Oneway and Anotheroneway? I am confident that you are not confused.

Coincidentally I brought David Springett's book Woodturning Wizardry along this afternoon while I was enduring the US Medical Industrial Establishment and some of the projects in your photo are demonstrated in this book.

Welcome again!

Thank you Jim! Yes I have two Oneway lathes 1224 + 2436 ja two others. You are right. David Sprigett has inspired me from the beginning and I have continued to develop her ideas to a more difficult level. David's ideas come from the French book Manuel Du Tourneur, published firt time in 1792 and second print 1816. I believe that from that period I turned a piece that no one has yet turned to this day. It is tetrahedral in shape, and inside it a spiked star has been turned. It is turned of one piece:)Tetraedri1.jpg
