Just got back into entry level wood turning. I’m 73 and will definitely enjoy reading the comments in the forums.
I have purchased a low speed grinder along with a Oneway Wolverine jig and vari-gig.
I currently own a older model Rikon mini-lathe.
 
Welcome to AAW. There is lots of information here and YouTube for sharpening tools. There is a saying: If you think the tool need sharpening, you are overdue.
