Is it a fixed speed or variable speed motor? They're different.
If it's still under warranty, I can happily say Jet tech support has gone "over and above" to take care of any issue I've had with my Jet 1220VS (the midi), including a replacement motor.
There's more I could pass along, but I'll wait until I know which motor we're talking about.

Is what is probably wrong (happened to me last year) if you have the 6 speed. Read all the entries to get a feel for what is needed and where to get the part you probably need.

Thanks for the reference. Did some testing of all suggested areas and then ordered a new motor from Jet.
