Just thought I'd pass along something positive. I discovered that my ten-month-old Jet 1442 had a cracked pulley, so I took it to a local shop designated as a service center. I got it back today, and not only was the pulley replaced, but so were the bearings. No charge, no questions. Good to know that some companies stand behind their warrantees.

Michael,
Glad to hear you're back in business. Thanks for the tip on the Jet service. I have had great service from the Powermatic folks as well, so it's looks as if they are doing a great job company wide!:D

Glad you had good Jet service from your local establishment. I have had good service from Jet corporate but not so much so from my 'local' outlet.

Michael, corporate rules dictate how much help you can get from your local outlet. Most major tool companies require vendors to refer warranty work to designated service centers. They will not reimburse vendors, nor will they continue to warranty any work done by a vendor that does not have the designation "service center." A well run, smart vendor will do their best to assist you or point you in the proper direction up to the limit of the guidelines set by the manufacturer. It is in their best interest to keep you happy so they can retain you as a loyal customer.
