I'm brand new to woodturning, and have a lot of interest in resin/wood hybrid objects. I've always been interested in the lathe, I find it mesmerizing to watch all the YouTube videos, and just decided one day I wanted to do it. I got myself a Mophorn lathe, set it up out in a shed in my backyard, and started experimenting. Here are 2 eggs I've already turned.
The big red one was the first one I did. I hadn't realized resin would chip so bad while turning, plus it was getting really hot in the shop (in Arizona) so I gave up and just finished it out. Not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt.
The next one is using some cholla wood I found lying around in the yard. I boiled it, then stabilized it, then poured it with some resin and I just finished shaping it and polishing it this weekend. Also added some LED lights, although I'm not exactly sure why.
But all in all, I'm pleased with my results, and have the next ones planned out.
