I finally joined after speaking with a friend/member and attending a local woodturning event. I've been wood working for about 30 years as a hobby from scrolling, intarsia, small furniture and now turning. My turning only involves pens and small objects at the moment, mostly made from my custom cast blanks using feathers, snakeskins, pinecones, and other objects from nature. I've spent a great deal of time at www.Penturners.org (IAP) as JohnU. I'm looking forward to expanding my turning knowledge, tool usage and make other / larger items. At this time I don't turn to sell and most of what I make is gifted to family and friends or donated to local fund raisers. Here's a few of my pens.
Thank you all for sharing your knowledge.
John
