Hello folks, I am Josh Buettner. Along with my wife Beth, we are J & B Designs, you'll never guess how we came up with our name, lol.
I started turning 5 years ago after I retired from the WY Army National Guard. Being in the Army for so long and everything being identical to the next soldier I gravitate towards the irregular; live edge pieces, burls full of voids, green wood turned and left to warp, etc. Hollowforms are my favorite style of turning.
With my wife and I as a team we do collaborations often with me turning pieces and Beth embellishing them. Or we do competition pieces where I will turn 2 similar piece and we each finish as we want (her piece usually sells before mine). We do this as a full time gig going to art shows primarily in Wyoming and Colorado but we're ever expanding. Glad to be here amongst other turners.
Attached is a picture from our most recent show with some examples of our works.

Was 48 miles from my home to Cheyenne. Lot less than 45 mins if you go fast enough.
Tiny little town. Neat town though out in the middle of ag country. I used to compete against Albin in track 20+ years ago growing up in Fort Laramie. Talking about Albin being small, Fort Laramie is even smaller. I love being in Cheyenne now.

Welcome to the forum. Nice shelves but does the height cause some problems with sales?
Hello, the shelves are pre-made deck seconds from Lowe's. We cut down the 2 side panels and use door hinges to attach them. Pieces on the top are typically stuff with details on the side, sometimes I need to grab them down for clients but I don't think it affects sales.

Welcome.
I rode across WY back in 2007 while bicycling from Oregon back home to Delaware. The sky is so big out there one day in eastern WY I could see five storms! I got under cover just as one dumped a deluge over five minutes and was gone. Rolled into Lusk in time for a bbq and fireworks on July 4th:

Wyoming weather can be crazy for sure but we'll take whatever moisture we can.
The wide open spaces of the high plains are part of the appeal of living here.
