June 2025 Challenge: Turn a Wand!

Thanks John. Really appreciate it.
If you ( or anyone) finds a good source for the unassembled parts, please let us know, and I’ll do the same.

I checked the local TN farmer's co-op today and they had a variety of assembled riders crops, priced around $10, more or less. (one fancy rainbow-colored on was more!) There were two that looked similar to the Interpid but I didn't try pulling to see if the handle would come off easily. That would be rude. Beside, the clerk was standing next to me and she would have beaten me severely with the corp in here hand.

I did provide an email address and sign up for a notification when they had stock for sale.

If I had a dozen or so left I'd send you some but my supply is almost depleted. What if a 300lb antagonistic competitive hunter jumper rider with a short fuse shows up and want's a custom crop made NOW?? (Unlikely since at the big shows all I've seen competing were small, slim, teen girls!)

BTW, I have never seen unassembled parts for sale. Where is the market for that? You might have to travel to some factory in China or Thailand to find them. But you could buy one assembled crop, take it apart, and probably recreate it for $1 if you have a sturdy sewing machine for the leather. Except perhaps finding the tapered shaft. And the woven nylon shaft covering (a variation of a so called "chinese" finger trap or a towing "sock")

I found this supplier for the rod (but I have no idea of quality or reputation) and leather is available in many places.
