Hello,

My name is Justin Delemus. I started turning around 1998. I mostly turn bowls but do make some art and the occasional box. I turn on a stubby 1000 I purchased around 2007. I currently live in Santa Cruz, CA and am a member of the Santa Cruz Woodturners club. I try to turn mostly self collected local wood. Favorite ice cream is mint chip. My website is https://www.wabisabistudios.net/

Can some one tell me the difference between the forum gallery and the makers gallery? Should I post in both? 500px is an awfully small image...

Let me clarify my question. What's the difference between posting to the forum members gallery or creating a personal gallery which is also in the forum? How is this different than the makers gallery? Should I post the same pictures to all three or is this redundant?

I see you must be referring to the AAW member's maker gallery , appears to be different from the forum gallery - The forums itself is not specifically an AAW member perk (You can join forums without being an AAW member, and can be an AAW member without being in the forums.) The two are separate, these forums are not directly a part of the AAW, but they are the official (and supported by) AAW forum for those members of AAW that wish to participate. - Two independent entities (yet related) and thus so are the galleries. AAW turning of the week is selected from Forum gallery images, I believe.

Thanks that is helpful. When I click to add an image to the forum gallery, I'm asked if I want to create a personal gallery or add it to the members gallery. What are the advantages or disadvantages of those two options?

Thanks,

-Justin

Only potential advantage I can see is if you want to organize your photos. They all show up in the photo gallery either way

I can't really help with that - as I don't use either gallery (I keep meaning to but never get around to it... I should turn one, but never got around to that either..) Perhaps someone like @Bill Boehme would be able to help - as this is chiefly the introductions forum, it may get more exposure were you to start a new thread about this in one of the other appropriate forums. (Though my tag of Bill might bring some eyes this way..)
