Greetings from rural Missouri. My name is Keith and I’m 38 years old. I have been turning wood for about 6 months, with YouTube as my guide.. I have much to learn and I look forward to reading this forum.

I am moving to Utah in a few weeks.

Thank you for taking time to read my introduction.

Welcome,
If you have not already done so, I suggest you connect with a local chapter of the AAW.
Most chapter have numerous learning experiences through the year.
Seeing the tools used in person where you can ask questions and get some guidance are invaluable.

When you get to Utah there are chapters there. When I moved to Florida in 2004 the woodturning chapters gave us an instant family.

Also regarding YouTube- it’s a mix of great, garbage, downright dangerous.
I suggest you look at
http://aawvideosource.org/
The AAW members have built a searchable video library of YouTube offerings.
Each have been reviewed for basic safety and most for acceptable practice.

Have fun be safe
