Hello everyone, My name is Larry Zablackas and belong to the Woodturners of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers, Fl. Joined there and AAW about 6 months ago. Been a woodworker as a hobby and still working as heavy equipment mechanic, mainly crane repair. Also enjoy refurbishing old American made Tools. Have a sop full of mostly US built Rockwell machines. Bought a 1948 Shopsmith 10ER and brought it back to life. Our club has open shop days twice a month which allows me to turn on a real lathe.
Recently a Conover lathe has come on the market and am thinking about giving it a new life.
Great to be a member and looking forward to learning from this forum
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I am not familiar with the Conover lathe. And it sounds like you are looking for a machine to refurbish. However, if you are looking for a full size lathe I am selling a Jet 1640evs lathe that is a little less then 3 years old. I'm located in central Florida. If you are interested, you can send me an email and I would be happy to send you pictures and more information on the Jet Lathe.

thanks for the reply and welcome. I believe your Jet lathe would probably be out of my price range for now. I am going to check out the conover this weekend. Probably better off with a newer lathe but I like older machinery.
How do I find your email?
