John C Campbell is an a 90 minute drive. You could commute. It’s a long day but cuts the cost a lot.
These are mostly 1 week classes
there are also a lot of opportunities for shorter classes with fewer students at instructors homes.

I admit that I'm also mostly self taught--Turning is my stress relief and I'm still at working fulltime (sometimes +)---this virus has kept me busy. Joining the nearest local club was really good for me.
