I had some resin left over from the Cosmos project so I poured it into a small dixie cup. After it hardened I put it on the lathe for fun and turned a button or cap.
As I held it up to admire I saw a piece of left over closet rod on the shelf and a project jumped into my head!
Mounted the closet rod on the lathe.
Turned it to a taper and thought for a bit.
Decided it needed some carving.
Grabbed some tape for a guide.
Scored the boundaries with a saw.
Decided a transition piece in Osage orange would look nice.
All finished and waiting for a rubber cap. Needs to be trimmed for height once the cap comes in.
