Old Navy guy from PA. Retired from teaching after 33 years in a Vocational classroom, got bored and returned to the same school as a substitute for another 16 years.
First turned in high school but didn't get my lathe until the late 70's. Found turning is meditation for me. Enjoy all forms of turning although most of my stuff is utilitarian and given to friends and relatives. Recently hollowing and more decorative, smaller items has caught my interest.

Welcome to AAW. You have demonstrated your creativity and skills here.
An aside: I'm a Civil War buff. Chambersburg played a big role in the Gettysburg campaign. Close friend is from Waynesboro and very knowledgeable about the area. Could spend a week at Gettysburg.

Wow! Born and raised in Waynesboro! A family friend- Dr. Paul Orange- is also a Civil War buff. He has several cannons. Also former student and teaching partner- Tim Byers is a Another Civil War aficionado.

Hello Lew! Looking forward to hearing and seeing more from you. Your turning journey sounds much like mine except you started a couple of decades earlier! I really enjoy turning smaller, sometimes detailed things, all from dry wood with a few rare exceptions.

Hey, you look really young in your avatar photo. :)

I grew up in cold, snowy PA but to the west, on the river south of Pittsburgh. Followed a southern girl home from college 56 years ago.
