This was turned from an irregular piece of Ash that was part of good sized burl. This piece included a small portion of the burl figure and it took me quite a long time to figure out what to do with it. I turned it on several different planes to get the wave form. I was able to core out some of the burl figure to use in the lid along with Walnut. The piece was dyed using multiple colors and finished with Wipe -On_Poly. It is 16" long and 11.5" wide tapering to 6". The height is 4" to the top of the handle. C&C are welcome.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Dennis, the piece was turned on the lathe but in three planes to get the wave form. There was no carving, but many hours of sanding.
