I've seen a few interesting finished turnings on social media sites using limewash, especially with oak, but precious little on technique or actual products used. I can't seem to find any references in this forum either, and I'm curious. Anyone here have any experienced knowledge to impart on use of limewash (not liming wax) or photos to share of your turnings with limewash?
 
I have not used a limewash paint, but I have used White Wash Pickling Stain. After reading about limewash paint, the effect you are looking to achieve may be easier with the pickling stain. I used it on pine boards (1 x 6 T & G) which went on a vaulted ceiling. The effect was a chalky white tone, while still allowing for the grain and color variations of the wood to show through. Just food for thought.
