Linden Wood

Linden is a Euro name for our basswood. Tilia sp.

It's fairly unexciting as woods go, being soft, with indistinct annual rings and grows so rapidly most places that it doesn't get fancy figure. Utilitarian stuff with good manners. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d160/GoodOnesGone/a06f7f94.jpg

Don't leave the wood long in the log, as it turns brown and starts to develop a mottled look within a couple of warm months. Turn, Dry, Turn, and maybe burn a bit of decoration in it. Super carving wood, so share with your whittling buddies.

Thanks,MM
We had big storms this past weekend, and a lot of it came down.

If you have a lot, get it sawed for lumber, too. Can't ask for better secondary wood for insides, underneaths and for painted surfaces.
