Lindow rose engine – $9,950 –or– $11,950 with Sherline machines

I am posting this on behalf of an executor in the process of settling an estate. I have looked at this Lindow rose engine lathe and its accessories and can probably answer most questions.
Some accessories are not gathered or assembled, so this is a description with my best guesses of what is included. I will be visiting again shortly to make more sense of some the parts and pieces, and hopefully gather them in better order for more detailed photos as needed. I will update photos accordingly.
There is some confusion because David Lindow used so many off-the-shelf Sherline parts for some of the accessories. The owner of this lathe bought both a Sherline milling machine and a lathe, obviously hoping to augment his capabilities. Unfortunately in the process a number of similar looking parts have been commingled between the Lindow, milling machine and lathe. I will sort these out further on the next visit, but the photos should give a good idea of the bulk of what is included with the Lindow.
Based on conversations with other Lindow owners we are guessing this lathe is more than 12 years old, and could be as old as 2008-ish. It is well equipped with a range of accessories including...
- Hardinge sliderest with base
- Auxiliary outboard rosette holder and rubber tower
- Slow speed drive with gear motor
- Overhead drive
- Cast iron your hand crank
- Dovetail rubber tower upgrade
- Double eccentric chuck
– Dome chuck, or components to reconfigure from double eccentric chuck
- Straightline chuck
- Threading attachment with 4 bobbins / chasers
- Oblique chuck attachment for dome chuck
- Segment stop with adjustable detent
– Slide bed for rocking tailstock
- Rosettes – ~25 extra in addition to barrel
- Rubbers – 6 additional, 5 plus one installed on outboard holder
- Expanding (nylon) chucks — ~16 +/-
- Drill frame with ECF (and possibly additional WW-style collets)
- UCF with triangular insert style cutterhead
- UCF with 3/16" round cutter style cutterhead
N.B. – The lathe and accessories have some surface rust due to storage. Everything appears as though it will be easy to clean up, but there will be some elbow grease that will be required to return this lathe to it's prior glory. The price has been adjusted and is intended to reflect this.
The owner also purchased a Sherline milling machine and lathe, to accompany the Lindow rose engine. They are mounted on a shared bench, and are each equipped with DROs and can be included with the Lindow lathe for an additional $2,000.
The lathe is located in the Eugene-Springfield metro area, in central Oregon. Delivery or crating cannot be arranged. Buyer must make arrangements to pick up the lathe and / or Sherline equipment locally.
Feel free to contact me with additional questions, or for additional photos.
The Lindow lathe can be purchased separately, or combined with the Sherline milling machine and lathe for an additional $2,000.
