Family had a get together and we made some crafts today. Believe it or not, I decided I would turn a bowl for my contribution. Made out of ash that was taken down due to the emerald ash borer. Navigating the bug holes was a challenge but we managed to get about 95% of them removed from the little piece. It was my first time working the species and I really enjoyed it! About 1.5" tall and 6" in diameter. Finished with high friction polish and carnauba wax.

I usually seal the holes with CA, but otherwise don’t worry about them. I don’t try to avoid. Customers ask about them, but aren’t dissuaded by them, especially if there’s some spalting, for more fun.
