For Sale: M33 Glaser (original) Screw Chuck - $115 plus shipping.

Chuck looks to be lightly used overall. The hub has scratches evident from a wrench of sorts. The two tommy bars are included. One is bent (I possibly made it worse - see below).

I CANNOT get the faceplate to separate from the chuck hub and I don’t plan to try anymore than my hand strength and the tommy bars. The estate sale person I got it from possibly couldn’t separate them either but looks that s/he tried hard than I will.

I have a Vicmarc 3-in-1 screw chuck and the Glaser will go unused. Please email Kershaw.scott@gmail with concerns or questions. Feel free to message here as well.

Thanks,
Scott

That's a nice screw chuck! If I didn't already have one...
Thank you, Tom! The screw looks superior to any screw chuck I have used or seen but it's not currently usable in my shop. It certainly is a nice piece of kit - even with the scratches and dings on the hub. I would really, really like to be able to separate the flange from the hub but I am not savvy with aluminum threads and I'd hate to make it totally unusable!!!

Any ideas for separating them? I have tried heat with a torch and then using the tommy bars. I have not tried extreme cold though. I DO NOT want to put any sort of pliers or jaws on them because it's clear that they aluminum can give.

If you have one, having two is better, right!? ;) Happy New Year, Tom!

Ahh, the deep freeze might work! It worked for me years ago when I had a steering head flange from my R100 BMW that needed separation. Try it, and use the lathe tool rest to support one tommy bar whilst you whack the other (snuggly fit) tommy bar against it with something heavy. Bent tommy bars are replaceble.

Happy New Year!
