A friend of mine is cutting a magnolia bay tree down and has offered it to me for turning; it is app. 36†to 48†in diameter. Has anyone turned this type of wood and how does it turn.

Hey RR, if it is the same as the magnolia I have it's wonderful to turn. Cuts as easy as maple, is just as stable and finishes nicely. Go for it.
