I was able to pick up a good size piece of mahogany at our club auction. It is around 10”. This was my first time turning mahogany and thought it turned very nice.

I love mahogany
Both the hard to find genuine mahogany and the more available African "mahogany" (actually Khaya) turn and carve very nicely.

Very nice. Mahogany never looks all that impressive until you get the finish on it. I really like it and will often pair it with some contrasting wood.
